Charlie has enjoyed a variety of different experiences leading up to his career in real estate.

Raised on a very small farm in Connecticut, his country roots are instilled within.  Starting with an old panel truck, he built a retail egg delivery route with over 150 customers in conjunction with a landscaping business.  He went into the milk business as a marketing representative calling on major chain stores, institutions, etc.  Then he moved onto various management positions as a plant and branch manager in the Bridgeport and Hartford, Connecticut operations.

Having always loved Vermont, an opportunity arose to become party owner and president of Jackson Dairy in Barre and Winnesquam Farms in Waterbury – and the move was made.  The old desire to own a farm presented a change of lifestyle and he became owner of a large dairy farm, running it as a family farm for 18 years.

When the farm was placed on the market the Realtor asked what Charlie would do next when he sold the farm and he replied – probably sell real estate.  Two months later he was doing just that, starting with Vermont Realty Exchange.

Charlie has been a real estate broker for well over 25 years with expanded experience and knowledge in the fields of farm, commercial, business opportunities, land, and residential properties.  He feels all clients and customers should be treated honestly and fairly.  He owned his own company, Countrywide Realty, for a number of years, and then joined Heney Realtors about 12 years ago.

He has served on the Governor’s Commission on Mobile and Manufactured Housing; as a board member of the Commercial Investment Division of the Vermont Board of Realtors; on the Board of Supervisors of the Winooski Soil Conservation District; and on the Board of Selectmen for the Town of Williamstown.

Along with his wife, Katie, a nursing professor at Vermont Technical College, they have lots of enjoyment from their grandchildren’s many activities.  They are both Red Sox fans!
