Jane is descended from German and Scandinavian Midwesterners who immigrated to America to realize the dream of owning their own land. She is truly rooted in real estate – her father was a South Dakota real estate broker and rancher and her mother ran the county title office. Growing up on 1500 acres of open prairie, Jane rode her horse to the one room school house her grandfather and father attended.

From the boulevards of Chicago to the Green Mountains, Jane has lived many places and occupied almost every variety of dwelling from mid-century condo high rise, to suburban Victorian, to the circa 1837 Classic Cottage in North Calais where she has resided since 1992.

Her knowledge of Vermont homes is informed by a love of our region’s vernacular styles; she’s been a Board member of the Kent Museum in Calais for many years, helping raise funds to restore the historic Calais tavern. She’s also a calligrapher with a passion for the 19th century penmanship style known as Spencerian Script. And she spends all of her spare time tending a large blueberry patch.

Jane realizes the key to putting the right family with the right house means listening and understanding a client’s wants and needs to provide the compass that links seller to buyer and buyer to home.

“I’ve bought and sold homes of my own and I know it can be intimidating and stressful. My goal is to help both home buyers and sellers navigate through this often major life event with ease and confidence and have a good experience doing it!”
